Don’t forget –  it’s that time again for spring-cleaning!

While everyone usually does their deep cleaning in the spring, there are a few things that most people forget to clean. Below we’ve got a list and some helpful cleaning tips to make sure your house sparkles this year!

Cabinets
Cleaning your cabinets can easily be forgotten. Cleaning the outside of your cabinets is very easy by using something like a wood cleaner or an all surface cleaner if your cabinets are not wood.

Dishwasher
A dishwasher cleans your dishes so why would the washer itself need to be cleaned? Well, food and other grime can get stuck in small areas, so you should ideally clean your dishwasher every couple months. First, clean the inside by hand, disinfecting and getting any remaining food particles out. Then, run your dishwasher with a specialty-cleaning product specifically made for it, or do a DIY version by placing a dishwasher safe cup filled with plain white vinegar and running the cycle on the hottest water temperature. Next, sprinkle baking soda around the bottom and run the dishwasher again through a short cycle.

Refrigerator
Cleaning the inside of your refrigerator is a normal thing, but most people forget about cleaning the outside of it. Make sure you’re cleaning the handle and surface of your fridge to keep germs at bay!

Oven
Most ovens have a self-cleaning function, but if yours doesn’t, cleaning your oven can be very simple! You can make your own cleaner by mixing 2 oz. of dish soap, 4 oz. of lemon juice, 8 oz. of white vinegar, and 10 oz. of water. Mix all of these together and spray the entire oven and let it sit overnight. Wipe clean in the morning!

Washing Machine
Yet another machine that is supposed to clean other things, so why would you clean your washing machine? Well, your washing machine can collect grime from dirty clothes in the small spaces, and around the door on the inside. Luckily they make Washing Machine Cleaner now that is very simple to use! Make sure you’re cleaning the hard to get spaces too! Mixing white vinegar and baking soda should do the trick!
