Every year on November 11, we take a day to honor all the sacrifices veterans have made to keep our country free. At exactly 11 a.m. on November 11th, a color guard composed of members from all military branches honors America’s veterans in a ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery. Around the country in both cities and small towns, Americans salute veterans through their own celebrations including parades and ceremonies. Many of us have so much to be grateful for during this season of thanks. But did you know that one out of six Americans lives in hunger? Even if you’re not aware of people going hungry in your community, chances are that it’s happening. Nationwide food bank organization Feeding America recently conducted a study that showed that children in every county in the nation are struggling with hunger.
Although it might not really feel like it yet, it is officially Fall.
