Lawton Food Bank Celebrates 30 Years of Service

Lawton Food Bank is located in Lawton, Oklahoma about 90 miles southwest of Oklahoma City. The Food Bank was founded in 1985 to fight hunger, the cause of hunger and the problems related to hunger in the local Lawton-Fort Sill community. As the largest food pantry in southwest Oklahoma, the Lawton Food Bank provides food and provisions for hardworking families in need as it celebrates 30 years of service this month.

In honor of three decades of service to thousands of hungry families, Lawton Food Bank will celebrate with a Blue Jean Ball and art auction to help raise money so it can continue to help those in need for another 30 years. The auction will be held on August 29 at the Hilton Garden Inn in Lawton. If you are interested in attending, call the food bank at 580-353-7994. Tickets for the auction range from $75 per couple all the way up to $500 for a full table for eight.

In a local news article, Lawton Food Bank director, Jeri Moslman, says that they have given local Lawton residents their Christmas and Thanksgiving dinners, but more importantly they have given some of Lawton’s residents hope and comfort in just knowing help is right around the corner. As the charity celebrates their past, they recognize there is still work to be done for the future.

Alon is proud to give back to its local communities and Lawton Food Bank is highly deserving for their positive impact on the community. Late in 2013, Alon presented the Lawton Food Bank with a brand new 2014 Ford F-150 as part of the Clean 13 “Cars-4-Cause” program which donates cars to deserving nonprofit organizations in Alon’s local community. The new truck was a very timely donation for the food bank as they were expanding to an even broader geographic service area. Last year, the Lawton Food Bank was one of several charities that competed in Alon’s “Load The Code” contest for a chance to win cash to help support their charitable activities.

Alon is proud to be associated with and support the Lawton Food Bank because of the hard work and dedicated service of the food bank’s staff and volunteers. To learn more about the Lawton Food Bank and how you can make a donation via PayPal, visit
