Providing Services for those in Need.

As a member of communities across the southwest, ALON Brands is proud to support local organizations that do good work in their communities. Lubbock Impact is one of those organizations. They help those who are struggling meet basic needs including having food to eat, clothing to wear and basic medical care. By helping residents with these essentials and giving them the support they need, the members of Lubbock Impact are helping these individuals make important steps out of poverty.

Lubbock Impact was selected to participate in ALON Brand’s “Load The Code” contest where local charities competed in a chance to win cash. In 2014, ALON Brands gave away $100,000 to help meet the needs of 10 community champions. “Load The Code” encouraged ALON customers to download the “Load The Code” app and vote daily for their favorite charity for the chance to win prizes like a new Ford F-150 truck and cold hard “YouCash.”

Lubbock Impact, Inc. was founded in 2007 and is a non-denominational, not-for-profit, Christian organization. The organization is 100% run on the generosity and hard work of volunteers and private donors. A unique aspect of Lubbock Impact is their ability to help “heal the sick” through a breakthrough free clinic in partnership with the Texas Tech Health Science Center in addition to providing food and clothing to those in need.

“Feeding the Hungry”

On Wednesdays, Lubbock Impact serves a hot meal in their soup kitchen followed by a bible study. They send home grocery items for those who cannot afford them and give essential food items to those who are homeless. To help Lubbock Impact feed the hungry you can donate grocery items for families, donate sleeping bags, donate toiletry items or donate money so volunteers can purchase items needed for the organization’s weekly meals.

“Clothing the Naked”

The Lubbock Impact Clothes Closet is open on Wednesdays from 1-3pm and 6-7pm. The Closet provides gently used and some new clothing of all sizes to those struggling to replace worn out clothing for their families and themselves. Clothing and monetary donations are greatly appreciated as well as volunteers to help sort clothing and help customers who are shopping.

“Healing the Sick”

Through a partnership with the Texas Tech University Health Science Center, Lubbock Impact helps run a fully functioning free dental and medical clinic. Doctors are available to those who have no insurance of any kind and would otherwise not be able to receive care. A pharmacy is even available to fill medications prescribed through the Lubbock Impact clinic—a critical component to those who are struggling financially. Volunteers also offer a free Chronic Illness Education class and Social Services. Volunteers are always needed to help provide counseling to patients in the waiting room and help with child care while parents are being seen by a doctor. Monetary donations are also always welcome and needed to help offset the cost of prescriptions and medical supplies.
