ALON Brands is proud to support the TSRHC. The hospital has helped more than 245,000 children since 1921 and they’re not stopping anytime soon.
The Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children (TSRHC) is a world leader in the treatment of pediatric orthopedic conditions. TSRHC strives to improve the care of children worldwide through innovative research and teaching programs, training physicians from around the world.
TSRHC was established in 1921 with a focus on caring for children with Polio regardless of the family’s ability to pay. When the Polio vaccine was introduced, TSRHC “broadened its focus” to other orthopedic conditions such as scoliosis, clubfoot, hand disorders, hip disorders and limb length differences. Additionally, the hospital cares of children with sports injuries, and some neurological and learning disorders.
Since TSRHC’s establishment in 1921, the hospital has treated more than 245,000 children, improving their lives and “giving them back their childhood” one day a time. One of those children is Christopher from Grapevine, TX. Read Christopher’s full story here. Born with a bone missing in his left leg, Christopher is now able to participate in sports as well as attend the “Annual Amputee ski trip” thanks to the care he received from TSRHC since he was two weeks old. Another TSRHC success story is about Jazmyn of Irving, TX. Jazmyn is a brave young woman who lost a leg due to the development of Osteosarcoma in her bones. She is also looking forward to the “Annual Amputee ski tip” thanks to TSRHC. Read her full story here.
TSRHC depends solely on donations for patient care and medical research and does not receive any state or federal funding. A number of financial assistance programs have been established so each child can receive proper care no matter their family’s ability to pay thank to the generosity of the hospital’s donors.
TSRHC participated in the ALON Brands 2014 “Load The Code” contest and had a chance to win a cash prize to help pay for care. We were proud to support the TSRHC during the contest and continue to be proud of good work they do for their community, the state of Texas and children everywhere.
